Bob Rankin
Artist Bio
Bob Rankin is a well-regarded North Carolina artist with many accolades. His distinctive abstract work reflects color relationships, textural treatments and energy discovered during the artist’s explorations around the world. Rankin received his BS in Art Education from East Carolina University in 1971. He also studied extensively in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, Florence, Venice and Athens before teaching Art in the Wake County Public School System. He recently retired from teaching after thirty years and now paints full-time. Among other honors, Rankin is the recipient of the Raleigh Medal of Arts and was featured in International Artist Magazine in 2001. His works have been exhibited throughout North Carolina, as well as in New York, Colorado, Florida and Marrakech, Morocco. He currently lives and works in Raleigh, North Carolina.
