Artist Bio

Born in Marrakesh, Morocco, Belmaachi earned his doctorate in Esthetic, sciences and technologies of arts from Paris VIII University, Paris, France, in 1992. Forty years of passionate artistic activities has made Ghany a world-renowned artist and distinguished personality in the art world.  He acts and thinks from an ethical point of view and is constantly questioning art and its social function in today’s society.

His shadow paintings are bright and energizing, inviting the user to return momentarily to a childlike state of play. The objects and profiles are universal, serving as a reminder that despite cultural boundaries, we are all connected.
